4th FAIR OF CROATIAN SOUVENIR

4th FAIR OF CROATIAN SOUVENIR
Publication date: 03.07.2009

On Wednesday, the 02nd of July 2009 the 4th Fair of Croatian souvenirs was opened at the Ban Jelačić Square. It was organized by the Association “Croatian souvenir” and will last for five days, where about hundred exhibitors will present their souvenirs, traditional and similar products.

The goal of this manifestation is to draw attention to the authenticity of Croatian souvenirs and to the protection from non loyal import competition. All the exhibitors agreed on one thing- these Fairs should be held more often so people could buy original Croatian souvenirs. One of the exhibitors and participants, Mijo Vojković presented his work on this occasion with traditional fishing tools and souvenirs from the Croatian Posavina and achieved great interest for the mentioned souvenirs. Alongside participating in fairs and manifestations of this kind, Mijo is paying a lot of attention on building a visual identity and brand. It is interesting to point out Mijo’s statement to a Vjesnik reporter: “I am already knitting for 30 years, and fishing for 20 and I have decided to merge those two activities, so I am knitting and making fishing tools. This fall, I am planning to publish a brochure with my souvenirs in three languages”. More about the Fair you can find in the article of “Vjesnik” from the 02nd of July 2009.
