The President of Republic of Croatia Stjepan Mesić and 70 diplomats accredited in RofC stayed in Sisak and on the area of the Nature park «Lonjsko polje» on Thursday, the 16th  of April. There host was the County of Sisak-Moslavina and district-prefect Marina Lovrić.

In Krapje-european village of construction heritage, guests were driving in horse carriages and after that, visiting traditional wooden houses, known as “Posavske korablje“. In the courtyard of the management of public institution Nature park “Lonjsko polje” they saw a documentary about numerous preserved flora and fauna that live in the area of Europe’s largest swap settlement. Guests spent time with ecological agricultural producers, and manufacturers of original souvenirs, along with songs and dances from members of the cultural association “Košutarica” from the village Košutarica.

"I am glad we have visited this destination. Our guests know the Adriatic coast; still we should head towards the continental tourist destinations such as “Lonjsko Polje”. Diplomats have seen an authentic village, tried homemade specialties and could enjoy the virgin nature. We expect that they will, through there embassies, inform tourist agencies in their countries about these attractive destinations. In the County Sisak-Moslavina improvements can be seen, a lot has been reconstructed and built, and it is obvious that it has economically grown" said the President Stjepan Mesić.
